Welcome to Rdmentary

Where every story is personal

I never planned to become a storyteller. Growing up, I found myself quietly documenting, recording conversations, saving small clips of daily life, capturing fleeting expressions and places that felt like home. I didn’t know then that this was called documentary filmmaking. I just knew it made me feel alive. Over the years, what began as instinct has evolved into intentional storytelling. Today, I create documentaries and video features that give voice to underrepresented perspectives, preserve memories, and explore the emotional layers behind everyday realities. My work sits at the intersection of journalism, human experience, and cinematic narrative, crafted with care, empathy, and precision. This portfolio is a reflection of that journey. Each project here carries something personal: the curiosity that led me to it, the trust of those who shared their stories, and the hours spent editing until the emotion felt just right. From immigration stories to climate change, friendship, identity, and change, I believe storytelling, when done honestly, can make people feel seen. If you’re looking for someone who sees beyond the surface, who edits with intention, and who brings both heart and skill to every project, you’re in the right place.

My Portfolio

Welcome to my digital portfolio, a curated space showcasing my journey as a documentary journalist, filmmaker, and video editor.

Here, you’ll find a collection of my most meaningful projects, ranging from short documentaries and audio features to editorial video stories and observational films. Each piece reflects a different layer of my storytelling process, whether it’s exploring social impact, identity, place, or personal memory. These works have been developed across academic, freelance, and creative environments, using industry-standard tools like Adobe Premiere Pro, Audition, and Sony camera systems.

You can expect to see:

• Documentary Films exploring people, environments, and social issues.
• Video Features on topics like climate migration, education, and cultural identity.
• Audio Stories shaped around real voices, community narratives, and immersive sound design.
• Editing Projects that highlight my post-production skills and narrative style.

This portfolio reflects my growth, learning, and editorial decisions as a media creator. Whether you’re a media house, production studio, or creative collaborator, this space is designed to give you a glimpse into the kind of work I do, raw, real, and rooted in human connection.

My Story

Who I Am

I’m Reshal Dmello, a documentary/video/multimedia journalist and video editor driven by the quiet power of real stories. Long before I knew what “documentary storytelling” meant, I was instinctively documenting life around me, capturing fleeting moments, voices, and places that spoke to something deeper.

That instinct became my compass.

I began my academic journey at Wilson College, Mumbai, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Media and Communication, where I explored the art of storytelling from its roots. I followed that passion into the field, working as a travel video journalist for a touring company, capturing journeys through landscapes and people. Over time, I transitioned into freelance creative work, then into roles as an Instructional Designer and Learning & Development specialist, sharpening my skills in clarity, structure, and engagement.

But my heart was always in stories that mattered, stories that linger. That calling brought me to the UK, where I’m currently pursuing my Master’s in Documentary and Journalism Practice at the University of Sussex. Now, as the founder of Rdmentary, I focus full-time on crafting documentaries and video features that reflect human truth with empathy, curiosity, and care.

This isn’t just a portfolio, it’s a living archive of work that’s thoughtful, intentional, and emotionally grounded. I aim to collaborate with people who see video as more than visuals, who value storytelling as a way to connect, educate, move, and transform.

Let’s make something meaningful.
